I recently had a lovely experience buying a second hand car through the John Hughes organisation. The salesperson who I dealt with was the very professional Mr Tam Phan. From the very first moment I met Tam, I never ever felt this was a salesman trying to sell me something. Rather, I felt as if I was in a family discussion around a dinner table. I felt like I was the 73 year old Dad who knew nothing about cars. Tam was my older son advising me of all the options and the reasoning behind his recommendations. It felt as if Tan thought he had a moral obligation to do the right thing by me because, like in a family situation, when you meet up during the year for birthdays, Christmas etc, Tam could look me in the eyes and with absolute confidence say “Dad, how is your car going, are you happy with everything, did the car meet your expectations? I could then look him in the eyes and say “Son, thanks for recommending that particular car, best decision I ever made. Everything you said was true. I am so happy with my purchase” Before I drove away in my new car, I actually went into John Hughes private office and left a note for him acknowledging how professional Mr Tam had been and how happy I was with the purchase. Can you believe the next day John Hughes personally phoned me to thank me for leaving a complimentary note about his organisation. I now know why the John Hughes advertising always say “Choose your Dealership before you choose your car” Thanks Michael Mathews
